How to download a public video on your phone

Save a public video to an Android or iPhone using the browser: copy the page link, paste it into VidLoad, then find the file in Downloads or Files.

You do not need a separate desktop

Phones already have a browser. VidLoad runs there. The awkward part is not the paste box — it is knowing which link to copy and where the file went after you tap a quality.

This walkthrough assumes the video plays for a logged-out visitor. If the original app asks you to follow someone or sign in before playback, stop. That file is not a public link, and this tool will not unlock it.

Android

Copy the real web URL

In TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, Vimeo, or VK Video, open the video. Use Share → Copy link. If you only get a marketing sentence with no https address, open the same post in Chrome instead and copy the address bar.

Paste and save

  1. Open vidload.net in Chrome.
  2. Paste the link and wait for the title and quality list.
  3. Tap the resolution or audio option you want. That tap starts the download.
  4. Open Chrome’s download list, then the Downloads folder in the Files app.

If Android shows a warning that the file might be unsafe, that is the system being cautious about a large media file. If you tapped the button on purpose, keep it.

iPhone and iPad

Safari does not always dump a video straight into Photos. After you tap a quality on VidLoad, use Share → Save to Files (or Save Video when Safari offers it). From Files you can move the clip into Photos if you want it in the camera roll.

  1. Copy the link from the official app (Share → Copy Link) or from Safari’s address bar.
  2. Open VidLoad in Safari, paste, wait for options.
  3. Tap a quality.
  4. Put the file in Files. Check iCloud Drive vs On My iPhone so you can find it later.

When the phone “does nothing”

Usually the transfer started and the UI you expected is somewhere else. Check the browser download list, not the video app. On iOS, look at the Files app Downloads folder. On Android, pull down the notification shade — Chrome often shows progress there.

If options never appear, try the same URL in an incognito window on the phone. No login. If it will not play, read why downloads fail.
