1. Introduction

FolkCraft Studio (“we,” “our,” or “us”), operating from Morocco, publishes VidLoad at https://vidload.net and related services that let you paste a public video link and save available formats to your device (the “Service”).

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, which third-party services process data on our behalf, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Terms used here have the same meaning as in our Terms of Service unless otherwise defined.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide

• Account data: email address and password (or equivalent credentials) when you register or sign in.
• Support messages: name, email, subject, and message content when you use the contact form or email us.
• Video URLs you submit: links you paste to fetch metadata or start a download.

2.2 Information collected automatically

• Technical and log data: IP address, browser type, device/OS hints, request timestamps, and error logs — used for rate limiting, security, abuse prevention, and reliability.
• Usage analytics: when Google Analytics is enabled and you have accepted non-essential cookies, aggregated statistics such as pages viewed, approximate location derived by Google, device/browser type, and referral source.
• Download history (signed-in users): titles, URLs, and related metadata associated with your account so you can review past downloads.
• Cookies and similar technologies: session/auth cookies from our auth provider, preference storage (for example theme), analytics cookies, and advertising cookies when AdSense is enabled and you accept.

We do not currently collect payment card details through this site. If paid plans are introduced later, this policy will be updated before we process payment information.

3. How we use information

• Provide, operate, and improve the Service (metadata lookup, downloads, accounts)
• Authenticate users and maintain sessions
• Enforce daily limits, blocklists, and security controls
• Respond to support and legal requests
• Measure traffic and product usage (analytics, after consent)
• Show advertising when ads are enabled on free use of the Service (after consent)
• Comply with law and protect our rights, users, and infrastructure

4. Third-party services

Like many online products, we rely on third-party providers. They process data under their own policies. The app may use services that collect information used to identify you or your device.

Providers we use or may use include:

• Supabase: authentication, account data, download history, and related backend storage — Privacy information
• Google Analytics (GA4): aggregated site usage analytics — Privacy information
• Google AdSense: display advertising when ads are enabled on free use of the service — Privacy information
• Google Fonts / Google infrastructure (as applicable): may load fonts or related assets from Google-operated domains
• Hosting and CDN providers: serve the website and API (IP address and technical logs as needed for security and rate limits)

We do not sell your personal information. Service providers may access data only to perform tasks on our behalf (or as described in their policies for independent products like Google Analytics/AdSense).

5. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies that may include an anonymous identifier. These help us operate authentication (session cookies from our auth provider), remember preferences, measure traffic, and—when advertising is enabled—serve ads.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in. The full table of cookie names, providers, and the accept/reject banner is in the Cookie Policy. Non-essential analytics and advertising storage stay off until you accept.

6. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to collect aggregated statistics about how visitors use VidLoad (for example pages viewed, approximate location derived by Google, device/browser type, and referral source). Google may process this data under its own terms and privacy policy.

7. Advertising (Google AdSense)

When advertising is enabled, we may use Google AdSense to serve ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to our website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet.

Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of some third-party vendor use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices.

If we offer a paid ad-free plan later, eligible subscribers may not see ads. Ads are labeled in a policy-compliant way (for example “Advertisements”).

8. Data retention

• Account data is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward if needed for security, disputes, or legal obligations.
• Download history for signed-in users is retained so you can access it, and may be deleted when you remove entries or when your account is deleted.
• Support messages are retained as needed to handle your request and improve support quality.
• Server logs and rate-limit records are kept for a limited operational period (security and abuse prevention).
• Temporary files created during a download are processed to deliver your file and are not kept as a permanent public media library.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

• Access or correct account information
• Delete download history entries from your account UI where available
• Request account deletion or support data deletion by contacting us
• Opt out of personalized ads and analytics as described above

To exercise rights, use our contact form and choose the Legal reason. We may need to verify your request.

10. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, use the contact form (Legal reason) and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

11. Security

We use commercially reasonable measures to protect information (HTTPS, access controls, and provider security features). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. International processing

Your information may be processed in countries where we or our providers operate. By using the Service, you understand that your data may be transferred to those locations subject to applicable safeguards and provider policies.

13. Links to other sites

The Service may contain links to external websites or open third-party video pages. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites. Review their policies before providing personal information.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the revised policy.
